Surojit Gupta, a University of North Dakota mechanical engineering professor, is the lead editor of a new book on advanced ceramics and sustainable development, according to a UND announcement dated Oct. 12.
The book, Engineered Ceramics for Sustainable Development and Net-Zero Carbon Emissions, gathers contributions from researchers, industry experts and members of the international ceramics community, UND said. It examines engineered ceramics, composites and multifunctional materials and their potential uses in sustainable technologies and carbon-emissions reduction, according to the announcement.
Gupta worked on the book with co-editors Mrityunjay Singh, Tatsuki Ohji and Michael C. Halbig, UND said. The university said Gupta’s research includes sustainable materials, high-temperature ceramics and alloys, nanotechnology, additive manufacturing and environmentally responsible manufacturing processes.
The book is available in hardcover and electronic formats through Barnes & Noble, according to UND. The announcement did not provide prices.
UND listed Nikki Krueger, editor of UND Today, as the media contact. She can be reached at nikki.krueger@und.edu or 701-777-4304, the university said.
