The University of North Dakota says it will sign a partnership agreement with Vorbeck Materials at 1 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Memorial Union in Grand Forks, during the Space Operations Summit.
According to UND’s Nov. 2 announcement, the memorandum of understanding will establish a partnership in advanced materials, aerospace, unmanned systems and defense-related research and development.
UND said U.S. Sen. Kevin Cramer will preside over the signing, with UND Vice President for Research and Economic Development Scott Snyder and Vorbeck CEO John Lettow also listed as participants.
The university said the partnership will connect UND’s research capabilities with Vorbeck’s engineering and manufacturing expertise, with the goal of creating a pathway for technologies to move from research to operational use.
UND said a media availability with representatives will immediately follow the onstage signing ceremony. The announcement lists Nikki Krueger, UND communications director, at nikki.krueger@und.edu or (701) 777-4304; Tyler Sletten, Vorbeck’s site leader, at tyler.sletten@vorbeck.com; and Rachel Buening, administrative director for Cramer’s office, at Rachel_Buening@cramer.senate.gov or (202) 224-2043 as media contacts.
