The University of North Dakota College of Engineering & Mines says members of the UND community signed a steel beam for the new STEM Complex during a ceremony on Oct. 2 in Grand Forks. The beam will become part of the complex.
The college said the project began nearly seven years ago with a plan to bring science and engineering together in a student-focused learning environment. The beam bears the words “Discover, Innovate, Inspire,” and is intended to remain visible inside the complex after installation.
UND President Andrew Armacost thanked state legislators and supporters who helped make the project possible, according to the announcement. U.S. Rep. Julie Fedorchak also attended and described the complex as an investment in the future of North Dakota and the country.
