The University of North Dakota says a new traffic pattern at its parking ramp is intended to ease exit congestion tied to nearby construction; the announcement says it was to take effect Wednesday, Oct. 21.
According to the university’s Oct. 27 announcement, the ramp’s northwest access point is reserved solely for exiting, with drivers required to turn right onto University Avenue. The university describes that exit as a second option intended to reduce waiting times for ramp users.
Drivers seeking the west side of the ramp at ground level must enter through the main entrance at the southeast access point, the announcement says. After entering, they should turn right and proceed through the ground level to reach the west side.
The west-side ground-level area remains designated for short-term and reserved parking only, according to the university. Ramp permits are not valid in that section, the announcement says.
The announcement provides no specific hours, costs or end date for the traffic pattern. It lists University Letter editor Connor Murphy as a contact at c.murphy@UND.edu and 701-430-9088.
