A Grand Forks man is facing serious charges after police say a domestic dispute with his roommates turned violent on November 2. Officers responded to a home on 16th Street South around 8:45 p.m. after reports of a physical altercation. When they arrived, they arrested 47-year-old Johnny Dale Harris Jr., who is now charged with two felony counts of terrorizing—one involving a child and one involving an adult.
According to Valley News Live, the confrontation reportedly escalated inside the residence, prompting concerned individuals to call police. Terrorizing charges in North Dakota are serious offenses that involve threats or actions intended to cause fear of injury or death. If convicted, Harris could face significant prison time and fines.
Domestic-related calls continue to be a priority for Grand Forks Police, who respond to hundreds of disturbance-related incidents each year. Law enforcement leaders emphasize that quick reporting can prevent further harm and help protect victims—especially minors.
“If you or someone you know feels unsafe at home, reach out immediately,” said a representative from the Community Violence Intervention Center. “Resources are available to help families before things escalate.”
The case remains under investigation, and further court updates are expected. Police urge residents to report domestic violence and threats immediately. Resources are available in Grand Forks for families facing conflict or safety concerns.
